Ellen Mary Fish grew up in a musical family and has been playing, writing and singing folk songs since 2001. Her first album of original songs The Only Colour was recorded at Run Stop Sound in Abbotsford, Victoria and was produced by Neil Kelly. Ellen’s style ranges from poignant contemporary Australian folk to light country rock and blues. Her songs explore local Australian themes and create personal inner landscapes. While known for her haunting songs of love and loss, Ellen writes and sings funny songs too. Ellen performs at various venues around Melbourne including the local Newport Folk and Fiddle Club’s Open Stage evenings and at Farouk’s Olive in Thornbury.
Ellen’s album The Only Colour was released at her CD album launch on Saturday 15th November 2014 at the Bar of Bengal in Yarraville. In 2016 Ellen is busy writing and recording more songs. Watch out for news of her forthcoming EP plus some Winter gigs!
